Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an FTS/Range Safety LEad to support the Missile Defense Agency Targets and Countermeasures Program. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provide assistance across the target portfolio with flight termination system and range safety requirements development and verification, GFE and CFE hardware and software development, acceptance, qualification, integration, and checkout.
• Support component failure investigations and review boards.
• Performance and/or oversight of requirements development, allocation, and verification for target flight termination system products, including autonomous flight termination systems and associated range safety requirements.
• Performance and/or oversight of GFE and CFE hardware and software development, acceptance, qualification, integration, and checkout.
• Provide expert advice to product and component failure investigations and review boards.
• Provide summary level and detailed level reports as necessary to document status, findings, and recommendations.
• Represent the interests of the customer in Working Groups and Technical Interchange Meetings.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• MS/MA and 12+ years experience working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project OR a BA/BS from an accredited institution of higher learning in a related field with 20+ years of experience instead of the MS/MA degree requirement.
• Can work independently and lead teams to analyze and resolve problems.
• Must be able to provide daily supervision and direction to support teams.
• Working knowledge of Missile Range Safety Requirements.
• Familiarity with flight safety analysis and analysis products.
• Proficiency in Range Tracking Systems (inertial measurement, GPS, C-band tracking).
• Proficiency with RCC-319 Flight Termination Commonality Standard and RCC-324 Global Positioning and Inertial Measurements Range Safety Tracking Systems Commonality Standard.
• Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Highly Desired - Familiarity with autonomous flight termination systems.
• Flight Test Range Safety experience.
• 15 + years of experience in defense and aerospace.
• Knowledge of the Missile Defense System and the MDA Targets and Countermeasures Program.
• Background in batteries, RF systems, ordnance and ordnance devices, and antennas.
• Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and have the individual flexibility to work on multiple actions simultaneously and resolve time-sensitive issues.
• Strong communication skills, including oral, written, and briefing.
• Must have excellent, established computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, and Project.
• Must be a pro-active, self-starter.
